The purpose of the site
This website provides general information about tree care and tree removal services in Rīga and the surrounding area, together with explanatory articles about trees, permits and the problems most commonly encountered. The purpose of the site is to help you understand what might need doing to a particular tree, and to give you a way of submitting an enquiry.
The nature of the information
The information published on the site is general in nature. It is no substitute for inspecting the particular tree. Every tree grows in its own place, in its own conditions and in its own state of health, and what is right for one tree may be wrong for another. Articles about diseases, permits, seasons or safety are intended as an introduction, not as instructions for what to do in a specific case.
The same applies to the regulatory position. The requirements on tree felling and on protected trees change over time and differ between local authorities. What is described on the site reflects the general situation, not a legal opinion about your property. If your question concerns a particular tree, describe it in an enquiry.
Tree removal at height, rope work and work near power lines are dangerous. The descriptions on the site explain how this work is done — they are not training, and they are not an encouragement to do it yourself. If a tree is on a power line, the electricity network operator must be informed first.
Submitting an enquiry
Filling in the enquiry form is a request for a quote, not a concluded contract. Submitting an enquiry obliges neither you to order the work nor us to take it on. We may decline a job — if it lies outside the area we serve, for instance, if it cannot be carried out safely, or if the necessary approvals are not in place.
An agreement on the work comes into being when we have agreed on its content, its timing and its price.
Prices
No price list is published on the site, because the scale of tree work is determined by the specific circumstances — the size and condition of the tree, its surroundings, access and the method used. We price every job individually and tell you the price before the work starts. The factors that affect the price are explained on the prices page. Nothing described on the site is to be treated as an offer of a price.
